2006 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Albert Pham is a senior
at Aloha High School and will be attending the Honors College at Portland
State University in Fall of 2006. He plans to major in computer science
and/or engineering. Albert is involved in many clubs and activities at Aloha
High School. This year he took on officer positions in Key Club, Asian
Culture Club, and Ping Pong Club, and he played varsity tennis. Furthermore,
by being a part of the National Honor Society and the Leadership class, he
finds ways to volunteer in the community. He takes part in several SOLV
projects and works as a homework tutor at his high school and at local
elementary schools.

Brian Salvador is 18 years old and a senior at Aloha High School who
plans to attend Portland State University in fall 2006. He has achieved a
3.78 cumulative GPA while taking Advance Placement courses. Brian is
involved in multiple extra curricular activities, including leadership roles
in Student Government, currently the Senior Secretary, as well as a member
of National Honor Society. He also founded the Aloha Table Tennis Club, ran
a national canned food drive, coached youth basketball, and spent several
weeks in Tijuana, Mexico serving on a mission trip. Brian has committed over
800 hours of community service in addition to interning at Washington Mutual
and the Oregon Zoo. He enjoys being involved in school through many other
extra-curricular activities and plays Varsity Lacrosse. Brian is a four year
member of Asian Culture Club and very active at Filipino events. Throughout
all his efforts, he managed to become a role model for the Asian-American
community.

Parasa Chanramy is a senior at Aloha High School. She will be attending
Lewis and Clark College in the fall of 2006. At school, Parasa is an active
member of the Urban Dance Club and Co-president of the Asian Culture Club.
Within athletics, she has been captain of the varsity swim and water polo
teams for the past 2 years. Her community activities include volunteering
for the Cambodian Dance Troupe of Oregon and the Elsie Stuhr Senior Center.
She enjoys break dancing, making film documentaries, and teaching Cambodian
classical ballet. At Lewis and Clark, she hopes to major in International
Relations and Political Science.
