Julie Shih:
Sunset High School

Julie Shih is currently a junior at Sunset High School with plans to
study medicine in college. She was born in Taiwan and still visits her
childhood home during the summer. As a diligent and punctual student,
her efforts have led her to excel in academics. In addition to
maintaining good grades, Julie is involved in a variety of groups at her
high school, including Key Club, Medical Teams International Club,
Spanish Club, and National Honor Society. She has also pursued her
interest in music as a member of the Sunset Marching Band and Winter
Percussion Ensemble. She applies a positive attitude and a good work
ethic participating in these activities that have been a meaningful part
of her high school experience. Aside from juggling IB courses with
extra-curricular activities, Julie enjoys artistic diversions that
include Chinese calligraphy and painting.
Julie is interested in a career in health care because she feels that a
job helping others is one that would be most worthwhile. She plans to
begin studying pre-med in college and finish out with a degree and
qualifications to be a nurse or doctor and she hopes to continue being a
positive force in the community.
Volunteering to be an ambassador, Julie is looking forward to promoting
the conference and reaching out to the students at Sunset. She believes
that the conference this year will be a fun and educational experience
and wants to do her part to get students involved.
