| |
Tram Pham is a senior at Beaverton High School (BHS), who will be
entering a health care profession upon graduating. She will be attending
Portland Community College's Nursing Program in the Fall of 2009. At the
completion of her fist two years she will be transferring to the
University and complete her advanced degree.
Tram has been enrolled in the BHS Health Careers Program for the past
two years. She was not sure that this was a career for path for herself.
But, as she progressed she found that helping others was very rewarding
and exciting. She has assisted nurse at the Maryville Nursing Home.
Tram, says that Advanced Health Career 2, has been a favorite class for
her because it has given her the opportunity to acquire a better
understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fulfill
the duties of the profession, not to mention the appreciation of helping
those in need.
Tram has acquired a realization for caring when she started to volunteer
at the Vietnamese church as a tutor. She says it was hard at times, but
this gave her strength to work at communicating to develop some
leadership skills. She tutored for two years and says she "honestly
enjoyed the experience".
She does enjoy activities outside of studying. She spends time with her
friends playing badminton, camping and learning to play the piano. One
of her big dreams is to travel around the world and experience different
cultures.
This will be her third year attending AAYLC. She enjoys attending the
conference because it gives her the opportunity to take advantage of the
workshops. She believes that these activities enhance her leadership
teamwork skills.
