Paul K. Duong
AAYLC Founder & Fundraising Chair

Paul K. Duong organized the first Annual Asian American Youth Leadership Conference in 1992. He recently retired from the City of Portland after 20 years of directing its Refugee and Immigrant Coordination Program.

As the Portland Refugee and Immigrant Coordinator, he served as a cultural consultant, served as a resource person on refugee and immigrant affairs for Portland City Council members and the public-at-large, and acted as a liaison between the City of Portland and the refugee and immigrant communities. He assisted City of Portland agencies to better serve the refugee and immigrant communities, and at the same time helped improve the refugee and immigrant communities' understanding and use of the City of Portland and Multnomah County's services.

Paul holds a Masters in Public Administration and has taught courses on Southeast Asian cultures and Vietnamese language at Portland State University. Apart from being a founder of the Annual Asian American Youth Leadership Conference, Paul serves on several boards and participates in a number of civic groups. He has received numerous public service and community awards and holds memberships in several professional associations.
