Bill Chin is currently the Legal Writing
Professor at Lewis & Clark Law School, and served as a deputy district
attorney for Multnomah County with a focus on gang enforcement. Bill is
the co-chair of the Oregon Minority Lawyers Association and a member of
the Oregon State Bar's Uniform Criminal Jury Instructions Committee.
Recently, he was elected as a delegate to the Oregon State Bar's House
of Delegates. He is vice-president of the Chinese American Citizens
Alliance (C.A.C.A.) and edits the Portland C.A.C.A. Newsletter. Bill has
served on the Planning Committee staff of the Asian American Youth
Leadership Conference in previous years and helped to facilitator at the
14th Annual AAYLC 2006 conference. He is also a member of the Office of
Neighborhood Involvement's Liquor License Advisory Group. His research
interests include criminal law, immigration, and diversity issues. Chin
is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the Legal Writing Institute, and
Clarity.
