Jane Olson Mauk

Jane Olson Mauk was born in Seoul, South
Korea. Adopted in 1957, through the Holt Adoption Agency, she grew up on
a large dairy farm in the state of Washington with 5 brothers
(biological) and one sister, also adopted from Korea. After graduation
from Skagit Valley Community College and Western Washington University,
with a degree in Speech Communications, Jane held retail management
positions in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR for over 4 years. For the next
15 years she worked at Nationwide Insurance, most recently as an
Executive Training Manager for three Call Centers. She currently holds
her Oregon State Insurance Agents license.
For the past 8 years she has been actively involved as a community
volunteer. Currently, Jane serves as President of the Northwest Korean
Culture Society; a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Korean
cultural arts to Adoptee children, their families and the Korean
American community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon
Korea Foundation and the Asian Art Council of the Portland Art Museum.
Jane has been married for the past 21 years to Danny Mauk and they have
one son, Erik, and currently live in Portland. This is Jane second year
to participate as an AAYLC facilitator.
