AAYLC 2026: Planning Has Begun Join the Journey!

The Asian American Youth Leadership Conference (AAYLC) Steering Committee held its 2nd annual retreat on August 16 at Portland Community College’s Sylvania Campus. Thanks to PCC’s warm hospitality and stellar staff, we are excited to return to the same venue for the 2026 conference.

Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassador Program’s goal is to provide one student from each Portland and surrounding metropolitan high school the opportunity to serve by promoting the Annual Asian American Youth Leadership Conference among their student peers. 

Paul Duong Memorial Scholarship

The AAYLC Scholarship is open to all students in their senior year of high school who have previously attended the AAYLC Conference, or will attend the 2025 Conference. There are three, one-time awards available: $2,000 for first place; $1,000 for second place; and $500 for third.

Logo Contest

All design entries may be on display at the conference and/or published on the AAYLC.org website. The winner(s) will receive recognition for their designs during the conference.

College, Career, & Opportunity Fair

The College, Career, & Opportunity Fair is a chance for high school students to learn about potential academic paths, network with, and hear directly from career professionals and college/university students about their experiences navigating them. Your exhibit can be a(n): 

  • Q&A Session

  • Presentation

  • Small Group Activity

  • Demonstration

  • Product/Project Showcase

  • Tips & Tricks for Success 

  • Something Even Cooler?

SPACE IS LIMITED SO PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR REGISTRATION FORMS AND FEE ASAP

Vendor Booths: One 2’ x 6’ table and 2 chairs will be provided. Please bring your own table cloth and booth setup materials.

You may choose between a Manned or Unmanned Booth

Helping Asian American youth rise above the obstacles before them to achieve their potential by promoting education, instilling self-confidence, and developing leadership skills.

Each year, close to 500 high school students, selected from multiple school districts, both public and private, from Oregon and SW Washington attend the Asian American Youth Leadership Conference. Students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Hmong, Indian, Iranian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Mien, Pacific Islander, Pakistani, Thai, Tibetan, and Vietnamese, among others were in attendance.
